MARKHAM, Ontario, Canada, August 23, 2010 – As if the unveiling of Ultimate Collector Series 4, “Versus” 3-packs with Bruce Buffer and the new “Live” line weren’t enough, Round 5 announced today that a special Limited Edition and Special Edition of its “Versus” series will also debut at UFC Fan Expo next weekend in Boston. Fans can see prototypes of these exciting new figurines, which feature hand-painted artwork of “realistic damage” true to that fight.

The extreme detail in these series, showing blood and damage appropriate to the bout, is a first for Round 5 collectibles. The cuts and gashes are carved right into the figurines so they appear to be actually bruised. The features and limited quantities available make these figurines highly collectible.

The Limited Edition “Versus” series represents action in the following bouts: Frank Mir vs. Brock Lesnar (UFC 100), 7-11-2008; and Tito Ortiz vs. Chuck Liddell (UFC 47, 4-2-2004).

A Special Edition of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva (PRIDE 28) 10-31-2004 features the distinctive shorts Silva wore in the bout with Jackson, and both figures are wearing the gloves specific to that fight. Fans will also want to be on the lookout for a special PRIDE edition of the Wanderlei Silva figurine, available on a limited basis. The PRIDE variant will feature the gloves and trunks Silva wore during his successful championship run between the PRIDE ropes. Round 5 also announced the formation of its new “Versus” line, which highlights battle scenes from great matchups in MMA history. Additionally, these distinctly new figurines  are
accompanied by an Octagon segment display.

Included in the “Versus” series are figurine pairs from the following bouts: Quinton Jackson vs. W. Silva (UFC 92), 12-27-2008; Georges St. Pierre vs. B.J. Series 3 is scheduled to be available at retail in the summer of 2010, while the “Versus” line is due to hit stores in time for the 2010 Holiday season.
